President
Jenifer Holloman received a Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration in the humanities and Secondary Education from Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts and went on to earn a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Bridgewater State College later taking courses in the realm of the M.Div degree at Andover-Newton Theological School, and Harvard Divinity School, as a way to combine her passion for people, their emotional and spiritual needs and her intense love of intellectualism.
Her interest in women’s health, pregnancy, childbearing and parenting has been with her since she was a young person. She believes that we can reverse the trends in the current maternity health system and is trained as a doula and trained Aviva College Childbirth Educator.
She lobbies her legislature for the licensure of Certified Professional Midwives in her home state of Massachusetts. She will soon be joining her family in Kentucky and living on a wonderful family homestead farm that has been in her husband’s family for over a century. Cape Cod is where she feels most alive, but she did live and work in Boston for over a decade.
Jenifer became President of Aviva College on January 1st, 2012.
Director of Admissions and Student Affairs
Brook Holmberg grew up in Duluth, MN and although she has lived near and far, she will forever call the Gitchi Gumi home. She graduated from the University of MN in 2003 with a double B.A. in Psychology and Sociology. After graduation, she moved to California to do a one-year stint with a hunger relief agency as an AmeriCorps Volunteer. It was during that year that she learned of her love in working with women and children. After her volunteer year was completed, Brook moved back to MN where she worked as a Women's Advocate at a shelter for abused women and children, then as a Woman's Advocate for victims of sexual assault.
In 2006, Brook gave birth to the first to two sons, both of whom were born at home with a loving and compassionate Midwife. In the fall of 2007, she integrated her love for working with women with her new-found passion of perinatal care by joining the first cohort of students to start the Aviva Institute Midwifery program.
Today Brook enjoys every day as a mother, a birth doula, a student midwife, a prenatal yoga instructor, a childbirth educator and of course as the Director of Admissions and Student Affairs for Aviva College.
